I Support - Special protection/reservation for orphaned/abandoned children

Just take a pledge. Voice your support to team "I Support". It can change lives of 35 million orphaned children in India.

I am supporting team "I Support" who are working to get quotas and stipends for 35 million orphaned / abandoned children from the Govt. in India for the benefit of their education.

These children are the ones who lack support from the Govt and end up in streets as they cannot pursue their secondary & higher studies due to our outdated support system.

If we can achieve this, we may no longer see children on streets.

If you would like to support them too, then voice your support at

I Support - Special protection/reservation for orphaned/abandoned children

According to Indian Constitution, there are Reservations for Minorities, Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Backward Classes, Other Backward Classes and those with physical disabilities, etc.
... Since orphaned/abandoned children are considered as caste less/religion less, they do not enjoy any scope of benefits under the reservation system in India (Which is predominantly based on caste & religion based quotas).
As per a survey, there are 2,32,46,000 (approx: 2.5 Crores) orphaned/abandoned children in India. (Ref: http://letshelps2orphanchildren.blogspot.com/2010/11/indian-orphan-statistics.html).
As the Constitution of India states in article 15(4), children of the society that are most vulnerable to abuse and discrimination should be given the utmost priority while drafting secure systems / schemes / benefits. It is duly noted that social justice is not achieved at any levels for orphaned / abandoned children.
Hence there is a critical need for a Special Protection / Reservation Bill for orphaned / abandoned children.

I believe that the recommendation by “I Support” (A unit of Abilashrayam Trust ®) in passing a bill favoring special legislation / protection / reservation for orphaned / abandoned children is genuine and valid. I hence forth in my sane mental state pledge my support towards the “I support” movement for a special legislation to protect the interests of orphaned / abandoned children through reservations. I would request the government of India to consider a special legislation to protect the interests of orphaned abandoned children through a “special reservation bill”.
